Hi, I am so glad you are here — taking the very first step! My name is April Carrasquero and I am excited for you and I to start the journey to either a healing process, to set goals, and/or to come upon the things you have yet to discover. Rest assure that our time together will be a non-judgemental and client-centered space.

A little tidbit about myself: I’ve had the privilege of being a public school counselor for the past 10 years. My experience includes working with all ages within the family unit that have experienced different challenges at different stages of their lives. I strongly believe that setbacks do not define someone, but instead the overcoming of an obstacle turns them into a stronger person or family unit. I take pride in working with variety of issues from depression, anxiety, personal growth, anger management, social skills, conflict resolution, behavior modification, grief, self-harm, suicidal ideation and emotional disturbance in children, adolescents and adults. My own personal background and experiences include living firsthand some of the misfortunes that come from growing up…….and just being a part of this world.

I have reached the decision to expand my compassionate and energetic personality to help others achieve personal growth. I am a mom of three, a wife, a daughter, a sister, and a friend, which helps me understand the demands and expectations that society has placed and at times the expectation we put on ourselves.

My goal is to incorporate a variety of techniques to meet the needs of each client working collaboratively with an amazing team that I have been blessed with. I find pleasure in guiding clients to identify their own strengths and inner resources they have yet to discover while giving clients the tools and support they need to maximize and strengthen their full potential they have yet to discover. Let’s do this together, I know you are ready…and so am I!
