Prosperity Counseling Services is a private pay practice. We do not accept insurance. Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be covered in full or in part. Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.

I’d recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:

  • Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
  • Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
  • Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
  • Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?

Why We Do Not Take Insurance

Insurance carriers can and will request ALL of your records. Do you want your insurance carrier to have your therapy notes about what you are discussing in therapy?

Insurance carriers require a mental health diagnosis for services to be covered. Many of our clients do not meet criteria for any diagnosis, and are just needing a safe place to process and heal. If you meet criteria for a diagnosis, do you want your insurance carrier and possibly your place of employment to know your diagnosis?

Insurance carriers require A LOT of additional, and unnecessary, paperwork from your therapist. At Prosperity, we value allowing our therapists to use any additional time for treatment planning and staying up to date with training on empirical therapy interventions. Not unnecessary paperwork.

Billing for Out-of-Network Reimbursement

While we do not accept insurance directly, we can provide you with a monthly Superbill. A Superbill is a document that states how much you have paid out of pocket and includes several different codes that your insurance will need for possible partial reimbursement of your out-of-pocket costs. You can submit this Superbill directly to your insurance or there are several companies such as Reimbursify.com that can assist you with this process as well.

Although I do not take your insurance, I do partner with a company called Advekit that helps you use your out of network benefits to see us. You don’t have to worry about verifying your benefits on your own, calling up insurance for reimbursement, or submitting claims because they handle all of that for you. There’s no wait time for reimbursement, so it may be more affordable for you upfront. If you go to my URL link you’re able to put in your insurance info to see what you can save: https://www.advekit.com/therapists/jamie-williams

Payment can be made through all major credit/debit/FSA/HSA cards in person or online before or at the time of your session. Cash or check is not accepted. A card must be on file to secure your first appointment with a therapist.

Cancellation Policy

Our therapists pride themselves on thoroughly preparing for and being fully present for your scheduled session. Please make sure you call or cancel through the online schedule system at least 48 hours before your scheduled session. You will be charged 100% of your session fee if you do not cancel your scheduled session within that time frame.
