About Lisha Shi,
LMFT-Associate

Supervised by Catherine King, PhD, LMFT-S, LPC-S

Hello! My name is Lisha Shi and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist- Associate (LMFT-Associate). I am supervised by Catherine King, PhD, LMFT-S, LPC-S

Relationships can get stuck in patterns that are hard to see when you’re inside of them. The same conversations happen again and again, the same reactions show up, and people who care deeply about each other can still end up feeling hurt, distant, or misunderstood. Over time, it can start to feel like this is simply how things are. But just because a pattern has been there for a long time doesn’t mean it can’t change.

I work with individuals, couples, and families who want to understand what keeps them stuck and find a different way forward. I’m not here to decide who is right or wrong, or to tell you what your relationship or family should look like. Instead, we’ll look together at what happens between people, how we communicate, respond to hurt, protect ourselves, and sometimes unintentionally repeat the very patterns we want to change.

I also understand that relationships don’t exist in a vacuum. Family expectations, culture, immigration, identity, and the different worlds we grow up in can shape how we understand love, responsibility, conflict, and even what a “healthy” relationship or family is supposed to look like. I bring that awareness into the therapy room with curiosity rather than assumptions.

I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, with clinical training focused on relationships, couples, and family systems. I provide therapy in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
