Michael Sierra

Counseling Student
Supervised by Jamie Williams, LPC-S

I am a counseling student working toward my Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lamar University. I bring nearly 20 years of experience as a first responder and my background as a United States Marine Corps veteran into the counseling space.

I am deeply committed to working with veterans, first responders, and their family members who are navigating trauma, chronic stress, and life after service. I understand the unique challenges and cumulative impacts of these roles, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, emotional numbness, anger, burnout, and relationship strain.

I take a practical and strength-based approach to counseling, focused on empowerment rather than judgment. My goal is to offer a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard, respected, and encouraged as they work toward growth and healing. I believe meaningful change happens through trust, honesty, and connection, and that healing begins when people feel safe enough to be real.
